Bidosky Residence

The Bidosky Private Residence is a single-family home located on the east side of Athens, Georgia. The homeowner sought inspiration and design ideas to improve the on-site grading, combat noise pollution, and increase outdoor seating. Conditions included thick canopy cover above and little vegetation on the ground plane. The focus was to create a modern landscape to complement the modern style of the home. Curb appeal was created using steps that zig-zagged up to the house, lined with rectilinear shaped rows of plants. The deck has three existing trees growing through it, providing a great place for seating. The backyard consists of a fence for a large cypress tree and bamboo as a noise barrier. There is also a water feature with plants to block the views and noise of the neighboring houses. On the opposite side of the water feature is a fully equipped outdoor kitchen that allows for entertaining and relaxation.
